FOTD: Hibiscus inspired look

 This is my entry for contest on reddit. The theme was to create a look inspired by a flower. My inspiration was hibiscus. Hope I will win this one. :)

HOW TO

1. prime your lids
2. highlight the inner corner with Sand Dollar
3. use Reflection mixed with Pink Jewel as all over lid shade
4. apply Sassea in the outer corner
5. apply Deep Water in the crease and blend it out with Night Sky
6. highlight under the eyebrow with Oyster 
7. apply Emerald on the lower lid 
8. line the waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Electric
9. use Black Pearl used wet as liner
10. apply fake lashes
11. glue white rhinestone in the inner corner using eyelash glue
12. fill in the brows using Urban Decay Brow Bow in Beige Betty

Review/Recenze: NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Ash/Taupe

This little kit from NYX cosmetics contains a clear gel, two shades of powder and tiny tools - a brush and a spoolie. I like the packiging, especially the diamond shape on the cover, though I'm afraid it would break and scratch easily if worn in a bag.

Those tiny tools that come with the kit are useless, I threw them out right away. The brush is too thick and the spoolie isn't bad but I have larger one already which is easier to work with.

The good news is that it lasts all day on my brows without any fading. I was a bit dissapointed because neither of the colors is a perfect match for my brows. The first one is a nice brown that would suit brunettes but there's a bit of redness in it while I would prefer if it was more yellow toned. The second one is too grey on the other hand, it's very greyish taupe. I have the best result when I mix the colors. The first powder is really intensely pigmented, the second one is more subtle. NYX offers this kit in six shades.

česky: Tenhle malý setík od NYX obsahuje bezbarvý gel, dva stíny a malé aplikátory - štěteček a kartáček. Obal je pěkný, obzvlášť ten diamantík na krytu, ale obávám se, že se snadno poškrábe a zničí, pokud ho budete nosit v tašce.

Aplikátory jsou podle mě k ničemu, hned jsem je vyhodila. Štěteček je příliš široký, kartáček sice není špatný, ale lépe se mi pracuje s větším, který už mám.

Skvělé je, že stíny drží jako přibité, nemusím celý den obočí nijak opravovat. Byla jsem trochu zklamaná, že ani jedna z barev nesedí stoprocentně s barvou mého obočí. První z nich je pěkná hnědá, která určitě bude slušet brunetkám, ale má maličko červený podtón, preferovala bych, kdyby byla spíše do žluta. Druhý odstín je příliš šedý, je to spíše studená šedá barva s hnědým nádechem. První stín je opravdu intenzivně pigmentovaný, druhý trochu méně, ale oba se dobře nanáší. NYX nabízí celkem šest odstínů.

 When applying it I first use the clear gel as a base, then I apply the first color and lightly finish with the second one.

česky: Nejprve nanesu čirý gel jako základ, pak vymaluji obočí prvním stínem a lehce přetřu druhým.

Review/Recenze: Zoeva Eye Definition Vegan Brush Set

 Today I'm reviewing vegan brushes from German company Zoeva. These are made of taklon and nylon so they are suitable for us animal lovers.
Now a bit about real hair brushes and animal cruelty...When I bought my first brushes I wasn't aware that animal hair brushes can contribute to animal cruelty. I was naive to think that for making brushes the companies shave the animals or use shed hair. Many companies claim this but according to peta the hair often comes from fur farms and slaughterhouses which are definately not cruelty free! Sometimes the companies don't even know how the suppliers of the fur treat the animals. Let' talk abou taklon brushes. Taklon is a polyester derivative and the bristles mimic real hair. It's supposed to work better with cream products but from my experience it works just as well with powder makeup. The brushes are also softer than some with real hair. Other advantage is that taklon brushes are hypoallergenic and easier to clean since the bristle surface doesn't have any irregularities. Thumbs up for taklon!

česky: Dnes vám představím veganské štětce německé firmy Zoeva . Jsou vyrobeny ze syntetických vláken, nylonu a taklonu, takže jsou vhodné i pro nás milovníky zvířat.
Něco málo o štětcích z přírodních vláken. Když jsem kupovala své první štětce, vůbec jsem si nepřipouštěla, že mohou souviset s týráním zvířat. Byl jsem tak naivní, že jsem si myslela, že výrobci srst zvířátkům stříhají nebo používají vypadané chlupy. Mnoho společností to sice tvrdí, to ale podle PETA vlákna často pochází z kožešinových farem a jatek, a to rozhodně není cruelty free! Někdy prý firmy ani neví, jak dodavatelé srsti se zvířaty zachází. Na jejich výrobu se většinou používá taklon. Jedná se polyesterový derivát a vlákna napodobují pravé chlupy. Údajně lépe fungují s krémovými produkty, ale z vlastní zkušenosti se výborně používají i na pudrový makeup. Štětce jsou jemnější než některé z pravých vlasů . Další výhodou je, že taklonová vlákna jsou hypoalergenní a snadněji se čistí, protože na jejich povrch nejsou žádné nerovnosti jako u těch přírodních. Tleskám taklonu!

 Eye Definition Brush Set 

The Eye Definition Brush Set contains six brushes which are all made using taklon brushes. Sooo soft fluffy! But still firm enough to apply eyeshadows with enough precision. I washed them already and they were easy to clean and haven't shed a single bristle. They come in a nice shiny purple bag which I've been using as a cosmetic bag. The handles of these brushes are shorter and matte. I prefer the length to the longer single brushes. See comparison below.

česky: Set Eye Definition obsahuje šest štětců z taklonových vláken perfektních pro líčení očí. Všechny jsou jemné a měkké, ale zároveň dostatečně pevné pro precizní nanášení makeupu. Zatím jsem je čistila jen jednou a z žádného nevypadlo ani vlákénko. Přišly ve třpytivé fialové taštičce, kterou nosím jako makeup taštičku v kabelce. Rukojeti jsou matné černé a jsou kratší než u individuálních štětců, což mi vyhovuje.Mrkněte na srovnání:

Let's talk about individual brushes.

 Shader brush is the perfect size for applying eyeshadows all over the lid. Below you can see comparison with my Bdellium tools shader brushes. The 772 (on the left) is a bit too small while 778 gets too big (Shader brush má ideální velikost pro nanášení stínu na celé víčko. Dole je srovnání s mými štětci od Bdellium Tools. 772-nalevo je příliš malý a 778 zase velký.)

Crease brush is used for blending shadows. It has a bit pointed tip so it's easy to access the crease with it. It's similar to my Bdellium Tools 780 brush but less scratchy and I find it more precise. (Crease brush se používá na blendění - rozmazání stínů. Má tvar trochu do špičky, takže se s ním dobře dostanete do přehybu víčka.  Dole je srovnání se štětcem 780 od Bdellium tools. Crease brush od Zoevy je však měkčí a přesnější.)

 I use the smudger brush to apply and smudge eyeshadows on my lower lid. My only complaint is that it's a bit too wide. (Smudge brush používám pro nanášení rozmázávání stínů na spodním víčku. Na můj vkus je však trochu moc široký.)

 Pencil brush is used for defining the crease. It's smaller than my Bdellium Tools 785 brush and the tip is rounder. (Pencil brush je skvělý pro zvýraznění přehybu víčka. Je menší a kulatější než 785 od Bdellium Tools.)

Precise shader is great for applying highlighter in the inner corner of your eye. (Precise shader používám pro nanášení stínů do vnitřního koutku oka.)

With fine liner it's easy to apply the thinnest lines with liquid liner. (S Fine liner štětcem se skvěle dělají precizní linky.)

Single Brush - 317 Wing Liner

The wing liner is not my favorite brush. It's to wide for pricise application and it bends too easily which makes the application harder. Made from nylon bristles. (Wing liner není můj favorit. Je příliš široký na precizní nanášení linek a vlákna se moc snadno ohýbají. Vlákna jsou z nylonu.)

Recenze/Review and Swatches: Sleek I-divine palette in Garden of Eden

Garden of Eden is a new limited palette by Sleek featuring twelve earthtone green and purple eyeshadows. All the colors are quite natural and suitable for everyday wear but I can imagine creating some bold looks using these.

česky: Garden of Eden je nová limitovaná paletka od Sleeku, ve které najdete dvanáct zemitých odstínů. Dominujícími barvami jsou zde zelená a fialová. Stíny lze použít jak na přirozený look tak na výrazné líčení.

Gates of Eden: peachy gold, metallic (metalická meruňkově zlatá)

Eve's Kiss: browny lilac, metallic (metalická světlounká fialová s nádechem do hněda)

Paradise on Earth: plum brown, shimmery (lesklá švestkově hnědá)

Python: midtone earth brown with red undertones, shimmer (lesklá středně tmavá hnědá s červenými podtóny)

Forbidden: matte light purplish taupe with flecks of golden glitter (matná světlá hnědošedá do fialova s drobnými zlatými třpytkami)

Flora: brown with red undertones, matte, similar to Python but darker and insanely pigmented (matná hnědá s červenými podtóny, podobná jako Python, ale tmavší, velmi pigmentovaná)

Adam's Apple: pale yellow green, needs few layers to show up, matte (matná světlounká žlutozelená, musí se nanést v několika vrstvách)

Evergreen: grass green, shimmer (lesklá trávově zelená)

Fauna: deep forest green, shimmer (lesklá lahvově zelená)

Tree of Life: deep green, matte, insanely pigmented, this one is really full of life!, it was hard to remove and stained my skin (matná tmavě zelená, velmi pigmentovaná, jde špatně odlíčit a kůže po ní zůstane nazelenalá :))

LOOK

I used Adam's Apple around the tearduct, Fig on the first third of my upper lid, Eve's Kiss on the second third of my upper lid, Paradise on Earth on the outer part of my upper lid, Flora in the Crease, blended out with Python, Gates of Eden to highligt the browbone , Tree of Life wet as eyeliner, Evergreen on the first half of lower lid, Fauna on the second half of lower lid, to line the waterline I used Too Faced Perfect Eyes eyeliner in Perfect Brown

Majority of the shadows are nicely pigmented, I only had problem with Adam's Apple which had to be layered to show up. The shadow are buttery smooth and blend well. They are vibrant without a primer but I recomment using it.  If you have oily lids like me,  they will start creasing and fading after few hours. You get wide variety of colours and finishes, 4 shimmer, 3 matte, 3 metallic and 2 matte with glitter. I was really shocked to see how intensely the matte shades Tree of Life and Flora are. Crazy pigmentation there and I had to rub my skin to take the swatches off! 
All these shadows can be used both wet and dry.The packaging is a sophisticated matte black but the downside is that it gets dirty easily.

česky: Stíny jsou výborně pigmentované, až na Adam's Apple, který jsem musela nanést v několika vrstvách. Jsou krásně krémové a snadno se "blendí". Fungují dobře i bez báze, ale doporučuji ji nanést. Pokud máte totiž mastná víčka jako já, po několika hodinách začnou ztrácet barvu a slévají se. Pro porovnání jak vydrží s bází a bez ní mrkněte na moji předchozí recenzi Sleek Celestial paletky: link
Paletka Garden of Eden obsahuje dobrý výběr barev, 4 lesklé stíny, 3 matné, 3 metalické a 2 matné se třpytkami. Velmi mile mě překvapily dva matné stíny, Tree of Life a Flora. Jsou neuvěřitelně pigmentované, měla jsem co dělat, abych je smyla!
Stíny můžou být použité na sucho i na mokro. Obal je stylový, nevýhodou však je že matný povrch se snadno zašpiní.
